AFC Gortankaku Sunday League

AFC Gortankaku is a soccer club registered in the Western Australian Sunday football league. The club is a sporting initiative of the Gortankaku Community Association of Western Australia, Inc.. This organisation is dedicated to supporting the social, cultural, and educational advancement of the Fulbe (Fulani) and broader African diaspora communities in Western Australia. Based out of Koondoola, the club serves as a vital tool for community engagement and integration.

Competing on the GameDay grassroots sports network, AFC Gortankaku provides local amateur players with an organised environment to play competitive soccer on weekends. They match up against various regional amateur teams like Hillarys FC, Whitford City, and Hamersley Rovers.

Beyond the weekly fixtures and physical benefits of the game, AFC Gortankaku fosters social cohesion and pride among its members. By creating a structured and positive team environment, the soccer club bridges cultural gaps and provides younger generations with mentorship, unity, and an active outlet. It remains a central fixture of the association's community outreach alongside its cultural conferences and social gatherings.
